The very first FoB Kit produced. Anyone who joined the
"Friends of Boyds" in 1997 is considered an "Original FoB."
After 1997 anyone joining the Loyal Order of "Friends of Boyds"
is called an Official member.

You will note in the image that there is tape on the box. This is not
uncommon for this time period. There is also a sticky area on top
of the Kit box where an address label was at one time. The early kits
were many times shipped just as you see above. Slap on a label, tape
it shut and off in the mail. Such procedures now haunt the collector,
because the kit just isn't worth as much with a box as above.
