These are messages and information we receive directly from Steve Schutt (the originator of the Teddy Bear Reunion), the Organizing Committees for the Teddy Bear Reunion, and the Organizing Committees for The Annual Boyds® Celebration. Updates are about Exclusive Bears available from The Teddy Bear Reunion - Home In The Heartland or the Boyds® Celebrations . Updates also relay information about the above events with dates, times, schedules and other pertinent information. We call these Clarion Updates because both of the above events originate in Clarion, Iowa. A Little About Clarion Events The Teddy Bear Reunion began in 1995. The second Teddy Bear Reunion was in 2000 with the third to be held in 2005. As you can see the event is scheduled every five years. In between the Teddy Bear Reunions there are Annual Boyds® Celebrations. This year (2004) will be the Fifth Annual Boyds® Celebration. Previous Plush Bears 2002 Clarion is currently selling its second limited plush bear. His name is Thurston. Thurston is a 10-inch chenille bear with red sweater with Boyds Paw Print embroidered encircled with Clarion, Iowa, 2002. The bear is being sold by order for only $20 plus $5 for shipping and handling for up to 2 bears to one address. 2001 Bradie Bear, the 2001 bear is available for immediate shipment. This plush is Cinnamon color, 10" high, wears a hunter green sweater with a white paw print in the middle that reads, "Clarion, Iowa 2001." He is being sold for $20 plus $5 for shipping and handling. Exclusive Clarion Bearstone Sets Heartland Museum in Clarion has about 20 sets of their Exclusive Clarions left! A Clarion resident donated the Sweetie Pie Bearstones to the Heartland Museum, which is in the process of being built. They were given to the Museum during a local fundraiser. The Teddy Bear Reunion then matched the bottom numbers from Grant & Clari for sets to raise funds for the museum. The proceeds that are to be donated to the Heartland Museum are used for a building they are renovating. The Museum is to house Antique Farm Machinery, Antique Farm Machinery Toys, A Teddy Bear Museum, Alvina Sellers Hats, Dolls and contributions from the Historical Society and Art Counsel of Clarion. We might add that Steve Schutt is a Teddy Bear Creator in his own right, having been featured in several industry magazines.
